The importance of electric drives continues to increase. Energy consumption and controllability play a key role in this area.
After having used our patented, flexibly deflecting fixed spindles with pneumatic drives in our deburring cells for years, we have now also stayed abreast of the trends toward flexibility and energy conservation.
We have developed a new flexible spindle for use at the robot head. The spindle has an electric drive and can change tools automatically. The deflection of the spindle can be controlled and adapted to conditions by a system we developed. Via a frequency converter, the speed of the spindle can be controlled correspondingly to the tools being used.
A patent for the new spindle was recently filed.
