Deburring specialist WMS shows how deburring is evolving. With 2 collaborating robots, the industry leader showcased its technical know-how and, in addition to the many visitors, continues to amaze its customers anew time and time again.
From 21– 24 June, 2016, Automatica in Munich once again opened its doors to the public. With 839 exhibitors from 47 countries, it is the leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics.
Approximately 45,000 visitors, over 30% of which visited from abroad, got a glimpse at tomorrow’s technology. In addition to Industry 4.0, service robotics was among the top issues. But the latest developments for conventional application areas for industrial robots, such as handling and machining tasks, were also displayed.
Fanuc, the largest exhibitor with an exhibition area of 3,000m², and its 24 system partners, for example, presented many solutions in the industrial robotics segment.
WMS-engineering GmbH, as one of these partners, presented its robot-based automation solution – a combination of 2 systems focusing on the deburring process that have already been implemented. The application is designed for parts with a weight of up to 100kg. On one side, the component is machined with an R2000iC in a way that is workpiece-guided, on the other side with an M710iC in a way that is tool guided. Fanuc’s Force Sensor, as well as the patented, flexible deburring spindles of WMS-engineering, ensure consistent deburring results.
